ABATCC Prepares to Address New OPM Director

| Having received a rather puzzling response from former Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Director Kay Coles James, ABATCC plans to address the coverage issue for ABA therapy anew with her successor, Linda M. Springer.
As before, we hope to enlist the support of the Congressional Autism Caucus. Its co-chair, Rep. Chris Smith, has said previously that the government could take the role of a trendsetter when it comes to insurance coverage for ABA therapy. We will keep you abreast of any new developments. In the meantime, if you are a federal employee and you have successfully challenged your insurance company or OPM on coverage for ABA, please let us know. Your case might set a precedent for others. We will, of course, not use your name if your prefer to remain anonymous. |
